About : Lynn Brown

Lynn Brown has shown her art around the area in many juried and invitational shows and has won several cash awards. She was the year 2000 Apple Blossom poster artist.

Lynn received her undergraduate education in fine arts at the University of Nebraska and a Masters Degree in Art Education from Central Washington University. In 1998 she also completed a Masters Degree in Theology from Seattle University. She as worked in the area teaching art to all ages. For many years she was also an adjunct professor in Central Washington University, teaching art education to elementary school teachers. She was one of five women who founded Mustard Seed Neighborhood Center in 1989 and currently contributes most of the proceeds from art sales to help support that childcare facility for low income families.

Early in her career Lynn worked in Chicago for the American Medical Association as a graphic artist. In that capacity she designed the emergency medical symbol which is now seen as the blue asterisk symbol marking every ambulance in the United States as an emergency vehicle.

Lynn enjoys painting pastel or acrylic landscapes of the area. She also does portraits of children on commission. She and her husband have lived in Wenatchee, WA since 1970. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
